Troubleshooting Tips
Troubleshoot 2FA Codes on Older Android Phones
- Some older, low-memory Android phones can struggle with 2FA codes
- Essentially, they close screens to save memory and won't let you pass the 2FA code properly
- Here's a fix!
If you are having trouble entering a 2FA code to your phone, try this trick:
-
Sign into SwitchBase Web on your computer → and click Account Settings located at the bottom of your left-side Navigation Panel
-
Click the Security tab
-
Enter your Password
-
Click ✓ Verify → so we know it's really you!
-
Click the Generate Access Code button

-
Make note of your new Access Code

-
Go to the initial Sign In page on your phone → and click Sign in with access code or Use Access Code depending on the screen you see

-
Enter your credentials → along with the SwitchBase Web generated Access Code → and then click Sign In with Code

-
If the Code doesn't take straight away, perhaps too much time has passed, so try it again:
- Click Generate New Code in SwitchBase Web
- Enter the new Access Code from your phone

Did your Email go to Spam?
While infrequent, your Email Verification Code may end up in the Spam folder.
It's not ideal, but here is a simple fix:
-
Open your Spam folder → and look for your SwitchBase Verification Email

-
Open your email → and copy the 6-digit Code
-
Click the Report not spam option if available → which may help sort things in future

Identity Provider (IdP) FAQ
You can access SwitchBase using the credentials provided by your organization. We support two primary methods of secure authentication:
- Standard Sign-In: Uses your email and a unique SwitchBase password, protected by our built-in SMS Two-Factor Authentication (2FA).
- Single Sign-On (SSO): Uses your company’s existing login system via OIDC or SAML protocols.
Can I "Sign in with Google"?
The short answer: Yes, if your company uses Google Workspace.
SwitchBase does not offer a "consumer-grade" Google login (like a social media site). Instead, we support Google as a professional Identity Provider. If your organization manages employee accounts through Google, you will use those credentials to access SwitchBase via OIDC or SAML. It is a subtle but important difference that ensures your data remains under corporate security control.

What are OIDC and SAML?
These are industry-standard "languages" that allow different software systems to talk to each other securely.
- OIDC (OpenID Connect): A modern framework used by many identity providers to verify exactly who you are.
- SAML (Security Assertion Markup Language): A secure, XML-based standard typically used by large enterprises to provide a "Master Key" login for all company apps.
Do I need to set up 2FA?
- For Standard Accounts: Yes. To keep your data safe, SwitchBase requires SMS-based 2FA at sign-in.
- For SSO Accounts: If you sign in through your company’s provider (like Okta, Microsoft, or Google), your organization’s specific security rules and 2FA settings will apply instead.
