In this lesson, you'll learn how to create Select drop-down lists and update your selection menus for quick and smooth data entry.

Create and Update the Selection Lists in your Forms

  1. Log into SwitchBase Web

  2. Open your Thunderhawk Arena Sandbox organization


  1. Add a Select drop-down list of five Team Members to your Report Found Item Form → Steps ▶

    • For example, add →
      • Erik
      • Astrid
      • Priya
      • Dimas
      • Carlos
  2. Add a new person to your Select drop-down list of people in your Report Found Item Form → Steps ▶

    • For example, add →
      • Sean
  3. Correct a spelling mistake in your Select drop-down list of people in your Report Found Item Form → Steps ▶

    • For example, change Dimas to →
      • Dimitri
  4. Color code your people in the Select drop-down list in your Report Found Item Form → Steps ▶

  5. Alphabetize the people in the Select drop-down list in your Report Found Item Form → Steps ▶

  6. Reorder the list of people in the Select drop-down list in your Report Found Item Form → Steps ▶

    • For example, move Carlos to the top of the list
  7. Delete a team member from the Select people drop-down list in your Report Found Item Form → Steps ▶

    • For example, delete Carlos (sorry, Carlos!)
  8. Review how to delete an entire Select list from a Form, but don't actually do it! → Hint ✋


Use the Bulk Add Technique to Update a list

Before starting, review the Bulk Add instructions → Steps ▶

  1. Open your Report Found Item Form and then find your Item type list

  1. Click the Editing Pencil.
  • Then, compare the existing Item type list with what the results will look like after you complete your 'Bulk Add" in Step 3. You will notice:

    • new items

    • duplicates

    • redundant items

  1. Copy this list below; then, use the Bulk Add technique to update the existing list → Steps ▶

Add a Long List of Issues

  1. Add a big, bulky list of Issues to a Form → Steps ▶

Update Bulk Locations

  1. Delete the Text Field called Found Location (in your Report Found Item Form)

  2. Replace the deleted Text Field by adding a Select Field type → Hint ✋

  3. Add a full list of Locations to your Issue and the two Lost & Found Forms → Steps ▶

Add Lost & Found and Issue Records

  1. Use your forms to add 3 Lost items during an Event you select → then close them out by reporting the Lost Items Found

  2. Create 3 Records with the Issue Form → Hint✋in Mobile

    • Tie the 3 Issues to one of your Events
    • Include a Description of each of your new Records
    • Add specific Locations to your Issues
  3. View and Filter your Dashboards to see how these 6 Records now look
