Create Forms & Dashboards Simultaneously with Templates
  • If this is your first experience creating Dashboards, starting with a template is a good idea!
  • Templates create starter Forms and their related Dashboards simultaneously → ex. Issue, Lost & Found, Person of Interest, and Work Order
    • Note: The Event Template prepares an Event Controller Widget that can be added to relevent Dashboards Template

Create a Dashboard from Scratch

  1. Click the Create Dashboard + button

  2. Enter your Dashboard Name → ex. Untitled Dashboard to Patrol Tracker

  3. Click Create

Add Widgets → Snag, Drag & Size

To add any Widget, including this sample Event Contoller, to a Dashboard:

  1. Open a Dashboard → click the Ellipsis menu → and pick Edit Dashboard

  2. Click + Add widget

  3. Snag and drag your Widget to the Dashboard → or tap the Quick Drop icon to pop in a Widget → then glide it into position by its 'waffle' handle

  4. Position the Widget by dragging its top-bar handle

  5. Drag the sizing handles in and out to resize the Widget

  6. Configure your Widget as needed. (This will take further explanation)

  7. Click ✓ Save Changes

Configure Widgets!

Every Dashboard Widget must be arranged on the screen and then configured to pull its specific dataset. Since each Widget Type requires a slightly different set of configuration choices, we've moved the detailed instructions to a dedicated article — Configure Widgets — which serves as a quick reference and includes configuration examples:

To briefly preview, when configuring a Widget you will:

  1. Name the Widget → Chart Title_ → ex. Status
  2. Link the Widget to a Form's Dataex. Issue

  1. Delineate the Field from the Form you wish to display and segment → ex. Issue Status

  2. Click ✓ Save Changes

Remove Widgets

To Edit the configuration of a Widget, or to remove it altogether:

  1. Select the Edit icon → make your updates

  2. Click Remove Widget

  3. Confirm the deletion → by tapping Remove

Convert an Issue Template into an Event Command Center

Using templates?

If you used the Issue Template, your Event Command Center is almost ready. Simply merge your Event Controller template with your Issue Form and Dashboard.

To build an Event Command Center dashboard from the Issue Template:

  1. Open your Issue Dashboard

  2. Click the Ellipsis menu → and pick Edit Dashboard

  3. Click + Add widget

  4. Snag and drag the Event Controller widget to the top of the Dashboard → or click the quick add shortcut icon

  5. Position the Event Controller near the top of the Dashboard -- drag the markers to make it wider or narrow -- grab the header to move it around

  6. Configure the new Event Controller by selecting the following →

    • A. Form Data → pick Event

    Pick Event

    • B. Record Lookup → pick Event Date/Time followed by Event Name

    • C. Sort Direction → choose Descending or Acending

    • D. Event Markers → select Add Event Markers

    • Click Save Changes
