2. Explore SwitchBase


Welcome Home, Sierra!

SwitchBase Home is your daily starting point, highlighting your preferred Resources → ex. Unread Chats, Recently Visited tools, and your available Dashboards.

Dashboards, Chats, and all of your other Resources can be launched at any time from the green Navigation panel or 'panel' — which also hosts a Search tool for immediate access.

Launch Forms by clicking the +Orange Record Creation button in the top-right.

Home


Accept or Ignore New Invitations

If you have multiple organizations, use the Manage Organizations panel to bounce between them. If you see a number next to Manage Organizations, it means you have Pending Invitations to accept.

Select Organization

To accept new invitations:

  1. Click Manage Organizations as marked above

  2. Accept (or Ignore) your invitation(s)

  3. Open an accepted Organization by clicking Enter >

  4. Undo any Ignored! invitations to recover an Organization

View & Filter Dashboards

You can open any Dashboard (such as our Event Command Center) from either:

  • The Navigation panel
  • Your Home page from either the:
    • Recently Visited section
    • Dashboards Section Pick
Which Forms Feed your Dashboards?
  • Use the Home view's Dashboard tiles to learn which Forms are adding records to a Dashboard. For example:

    • This Event Command Center pulls Records from the Event controller and the Issue Form
    • The Lost & Found Dashboard pulls records from the Found and Missing Item Forms
    • This Magic Moments & Budget Dashboard pulls records from the Magic Moments Form

Open Events

Open Events by simply picking them from the Event Controller's drop-down list.

The Date Range filter impacts how far back your list will be displayed. For example, select 60 days, and all events from the past 60 days (or events 60 days in the future) will appear.

Jump quickly to Active events by:

  1. Clicking the green Active button

  2. You'll pop immediately to your Active Event

Select & Clear Filters

To select and filter Events and Issue Records:

  1. Click the Date Range filter:

    • Flick between 30-365 Days to eye the changes
    • Select the All Data option (and try step 2)
  2. Click your available filters:

    • A. Event Controllerex. filter by Event
    • B. Departmentex. Security, Medical, Custodial . . .
    • C. Issue Statusex. Closed
  3. Select X Clear Filters:

    • Remove all filters, including the Event filter

Manage the Navigation Panel

Pin Dashboards & Chats

Use Pins to declutter your Navigation panel:

  • Pin desired Dashboards and Chats → sending them to the top of the list
  • Reorder them → by dragging their Waffle handles up or down
  • Make hidden items visible → by clicking Show more

To pin and unpin your Navigation panel's Dashboards & Chats:

  1. Hover over any Dashboard (or Chat) to reveal its Pinex. Game Day Information_

  2. Click the Pin!

  3. Pin additional Dashboards (or Chats)

  4. Click and drag the waffle icon up or down → to reposition

  5. Reverse the process above to remove your Pins

Show more / Show less

  1. Click the Show more → to display the unpinned items

  2. Select Show less → to minimize the list

Search the Navigation Panel

To quickly search for Resources in your Navigation panel — including Forms, Dashboards, Chats, Roles and more:

  1. Click the Search icon

  2. Enter a few Letters to start populating the Results list → ex. Lost

  3. Pick from the list → ex. Lost & Found

  • Select Ctrl k to start a Search

Collapse the Navigation Panel

To see more of your Dashboard's workspace, collapse the Navigation panel:

  1. Click the Collapse/Expand icon → to make the 'Navigation panel' go away!

  2. Click the Collapse/Expand icon → and pop open the panel

Alternatives
  • Click Ctrl B to Collapse/Expand the Navigation panel
  • Use the Toggle Sidebar left-right arrow ↔ to drag the Navigation panel in and out

User Menu

The User Menu lets you switch between Light & Dark Mode, Contact Support, Refresh your account’s pages, access your Account Settings, and Sign Out, all from the convenient menu at the bottom of your Navigation panel.

Switch Dark & Light Modes

In semi-dark Command Centers, Dark Mode is the way to go.

  1. Click the User Menu → and pick Dark Mode

  2. Open the User Menu again → to switch back to Light Mode

Contact Support

Consider Chat support
  • Many Organizations use SwitchBase Chat for support.
  • Click the Support conversation to ask your question

  2. Use any method to get help

    • Our Resource Center can answer nearly any question
    • Email support is available for questions and non-urgent issues
    • Phone or Text if it's urgent!

Refresh your Account’s Pages

Things feel a bit slow? Has SwitchBase been sitting idle for a long time?

Then Refresh!

  1. Click the User Menu → and pick Refresh Account

  • 'Refresh Account' is the same as refreshing a page in your Browser.

Sign out

For your security (and that of your venue), Sign Out at the end of each session.

  1. Click the User Menu → and pick Sign Out

Admin Tools

Admin menu access depends on the Privileges set in your Role. Without the proper Privileges, many — if not all — of Admin menu tools will be hidden.

If your Organization designates you as a SwitchBase personnel Access Manager, a Resource Creator/Editor, or a system-wide Admin, you will see the relevant tools in your dropdown menu.
